1Buy another brand
By Zach
We purchased the Summer Infant “Night and Day” handheld monitor when our baby was born (I’ll get around to how this relates to the “Secure Sight” system you’re expecting to read about). Around the 8 month mark the sound started to “go” … we’d see the ‘red’ but wouldn’t hear anything. Since the monitor was less than 1 year old I contacted Summer Infant customer support, and was told that if I could prove my handheld was purchased less than 1 year ago they would replace it with the “Secure Sight” handheld monitor. (for some reason they wouldn’t send a new “Night and Day”, and FYI: save your receipt!). Before agreeing to the trade I checked it out and saw that the Secure Sight unit itself was/is more streamlined than the “Night and Day” model, but noticed the price was a bit less. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I agreed to the swap. We set it up and I couldn’t be more disappointed. The picture isn’t nearly as sharp as the “Night and Day”, it’s a step above poor and I can barely distinguish my baby from the crib mattress. With the Night and Day I could actually see his breathing if I wanted to – with the Secure Sight it’s more like looking at a fuzzy shape of what’s most likely my baby.
Second, the power cord is very short compared to the “Night and Day” and we have to use an extension cord to make it to the outlet (we didn’t need an extension cord with the “Night and Day”). Recommendation: pay the extra $30 for the “Night and Day” if you’re considering either of these, or even better… save yourself the trouble altogether by avoiding them both. I’ve never written a product review before this one, but sincerely hope it helps a few folks with their decision.

4Works well
By Preemiemommie
We bought this monitor when we brought our preemie daughter home from the hospital so we could visual see her oxygen and heart rate monitor. The video is very clear, and works wonderfully at night. The sound is exceptionally clear. We have used the Graco digital with our first son and went thru three of them from the sound going out and battery dying. Very impressed at how well the unit transmits, especially since we live in an apartment. No interference at all. THe only issue we have had is that after 4 nights the LED light on the reciever died and you could not see the image hardly at all. Summer replaced it and we’ve had no issues further. I would highly recommend this product.

4very good unit!
By scaredmychild
Each unit is different, but i have to say, i dont understand those that said they dont get good range. i walk outside, and all over my house , not large but still about 1500sq ft, and it works just fine. I love that the moniter is so clear i can even see my son breathing on the moniter. What a peace of mind.
The pros :

Night vision, i can see clearly in the pitch black
Great sound, everything is clear
Little static, Static only occurs when i walk right near the unit, however, i can walk in the same room with it, and there is little interference.

Cons-
small screen. I would have preferred one of the bigger screens
Expense- at the time i bought it, it was over 200. i wish for this price i could have had more then one camera. The camera is stationary, but when he moves, as a 6 month old does, i have to either readjust him or the camera, and it would be nice if a second one covered the other area.
